Yes yes... I know this game was released like 2 years ago. And I'm terribly lagged to only complete it now. But hey! Late better than never. Just to warn there are spoilers.

Call of Duty 4 is really an enjoyable game... just a little pity that it is a little too short. I started playing the game today at around 11am to around 5pm that is about 6 hours of gameplay minus 1 hour of my lunch-time and about 2 hours waste of dying. (Yes I sucks at surviving)

Okay... now the maths seems to tell me that is about 3 hours worth of gameplay, even if my dying time is exaggrated or even only 1 hour wasted, its still 4 hours and its still short.


I like the gameplay which is pretty smooth and you often have your squadmates with you compared to some other games which think that you are a superhero and decided to make to destroy an entire army on your own.
NO.. wait this is not about a rant of solo vs squad

The healthbar do not exist in this game but instead uses a system similar to many recent shooters of its time, which many of my net friends called it. Halo-style health.


Finally after 3 Call of Duty, there is finally a modern Call of Duty with modern guns. There are quite a number of guns, from pistols to SMG to rifles to rockets. And there are almost always two version of them. US and Russia.

In this CoD, cover is hardly safe anymore as modern bullets could easily penerate through thin covers like wood and some metals. Even cars will explode. So you pretty much have to think tactically as to where you should or should not hide.

What I really like about it. Great storyline/campaign. The past Call of Duty and even Call of Duty: World at War have been World War II-based which means the main storyline is already there, hell even the ending is already thought out for you.

Call of Duty 4 story follows 2 Soldiers, Sgt "Soap" MacTavish of SAS and Sgt Paul Jackson of USMC, where the US engage in a war against the Ultranationalist in multiple locations including the Middle East, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Prypiat, Ukraine.

I'm not going to spoil everything that happen for you since this is not a walkthrough. But guess who wins!

There is one particular mission which I really enjoyed and it is "Death From Above ".
This mission is unique in a way that it puts you in the seat of an weapon operator in a big plane AC-130H Spectre Gunship, or what I love to simply call ByeBye Tangos.

You will be just relaxing in your chair or whatever you're sittng on, and just blasting enemies away with your big guns without the worry of getting hit at all.

On to Graphics! I can't really judge the graphics cause I was playing the game at medium setting or something close to that. But from what I did see, it is really beautiful:

The sound of the game is awesome, the guns actually sound like what they are.... erm... right yea. Whats there to say except it really make me felt that I am really in the midst of a battle.

What this game needs... is a Co-op mode. Lets face it, Co-op makes every game 100x more epic. And Left 4 Dead is a great example.
I know L4D came out way later than Call of Duty 4 but there is always Call of Duty 5.

Please... there really should be a Co-op mode since for almost every minute of your campaign, you have at least ONE squadmate beside you.
So why not have your best friend fighting beside you rather than an AI which you could not communicate with.

Yup. He is definitely getting to it.

This game is definitely a must-buy if you are a hardcore FPS fan and have been itching to get out of the WWII time period and on to Modern Warfare!
